No Reservations: Philippines with Anthony Bourdain
I stumbled upon this "No Reservations" episode on the Philippines somewhere in Facebook. Mr. Bourdain sounded too patronizing. It would be nice to know what Anthony Bourdain really thinks, off-cam.

I watched the episode with great anticipation but felt somewhat let down. The show failed to capture the incredibly festive and outgoing personalities of Filipinos, especially when they're in a feast-mode! I like Claude Tayag and Market Man but why did they seem so subdued? When my husband and I visited my family in Makati, it was crazy-fun!
I know what you mean. It felt to me like it was more a search for something to exoticize about Philippine food in an attempt to please fans rather than exploring the context from where the food practices are obtained.
